KK Road Trip (Day 2) - Jalan jalan, cari makan

... I know this is a way too long overdue post.
Nevermind lah, better late than never isn't it?

As promised in my previous Day 1 post, I'll like to introduce you peeps the place we stayed in KK for 3 days.

This,

01

(Look not bad right?)

... was where we stayed during our KK trip.

Villa Perdana - Alpine homestay.

How much? RM300 nett with 3 rooms! (fit for 6 pax)
Not bad right?

02
This way up my dear friends.

We have the whole unit to ourselves.
Living room and kitchen in the first floor and 3 rooms in the second.

03

Just nice and cozy.

04

They provide free pickup from and to the airport at anytime and also free shuttle to the city. Meaning, you'll save a lot of kachings! Hassle-free!

According to their website, its located 5 minutes away from the airport and the city center... I think that's when there's no traffic la. Normally it took us 10-15 mins to reach the city or its Alex who either missed the turn and had to make an U-turn or got lost when driving.

05

The owner is a very nice guy and.... phew, the collection of cars they have at home is so going to make those car-lovers drool all over.

Because we didn't have enough cash (RM) to pay Awang and credit card is our only solution that time, Awang drove us to his place just to swipe the card and wow... his house is really nice and the cars.... I'm not a car lover but, from their conversations, I knew they really spent a lot in modifying and pimping (the engines, not the exterior like ah bengs) the cars.

The men were so excited sharing stories about cars and it all sounded like foreign language to me. My ears only became super sharp and long when it comes to numbers and digits and really, jaw-dropped ah.

Anyway... back to the homestay.

What I really like about the place is... It's super safe!

Safe ah, not save.

The security check was tight (we had to go through 2 security posts), the guards were there 24/7 and seriously, I don't think you need to worry about your car parking there.

If you can't find the place, the owner can always meet you somewhere and guide you there.

Alpine Homstay provides a variety of homestay fit for couple, kawan-kawan or a whole family.
2 pax, 4 pax, up to 8 pax... no problemo~

(And.. unlike hotels, I don't think they check and charge for extra pax. LOL! Meaning you can "smuggle" your friends in. Hahhahahhaha. Can what? Sleep on the couch or just on the floor mah. Save cost kan?)

p/s: THIS IS NOT A PAID POST!
I didn't receive a single cent nor discount for putting this up one okay. I just thought that good things must share share with you all only. See, I so sweet kan?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, now can start blog about my "DAY 2".

First... makan of course.
The good thing about road trip is, you have your own transport to luung-here-luung-there to search for good food and not those restaurants near your hotels.

Initially Alex said that he'll bring us go eat duck for breakfast, sekali when we stopped at the traffic light, we saw a small kopitiam with lots of customers inside. As you know, the golden rule about food hunting is ---- if you see a lot of people (locals) eating at the place, sure good one. Won't salah one. So we made a turn and went there.

Don't ask me what's the name of the restaurant and location ah. All I can say is.. its sort of like a kopitiam opposite to the what-what park (where got elderly folks play taichi one..) Another hint I can give is, Villa Perdana is located near to Queen E Hospital.

We just sat and Alex asked what's their specialty and terus ordered 5 bowls.

Me, in Vict's fedora.
Damn fail.

I cannot wear hat one. Not even cap.
Sigh, the sorrow of my pancake face.

Anyway... back to FOOD!

06

Wait wait.. let me recall the name of this.
Oh ya! 烧肉河粉

Its like kueh-tiaw in a super thick sauce like kolo kueh-tiaw but, got CHAKOI one leh!
Call me sua-ku but, I'd never see this kind of combination in my life leh. Damn creative don't you think? I thought chakoi only can eat with porridge one or by its own as snacks (by the way.. I don't really like chakoi with butter and kaya, so .... salah) then.. so lihai lah whoever who invented that.

08
Yohei is damn hairy.

After breakfast, we headed to the city and went our separate ways.

They,

Alex, Vict and Yohei wanna go to the island whereas Bobby and I decided we'll skipped it this time so they went to the city to buy some food and beverages.

So yeah, here's their photos in the island.10

And where did Bobby and I go?

Aiyah.. need to ask again meh?
SHOPPING LAH!

11

And.. of course, eat eat eat too.

12

Hehehhee. Took his photo without notifying again.

13

After Centrepoint and Warisan Square, next stop.. ONEBORNEO again~!

Incase you don't know, there's free shuttle available and all you need to do is go get the tickets and wait for your turn.

14

I tell you, the bus is damn punctual and clean!
There's a man who check the arrival time of the bus and the cleanliness every time the bus arrived leh. If only.... oh nevermind.

15
Us in the bus.

16
OneBorneo once again~

17
Haih. Touristy kiasu shot.

There's DAISO there. Well, I don't know what happened to the one in Brunei but, I love shopping in this kind of shops. A lot of silly things inside.

Like this,
18

Damn sat okay. But I didn't buy lah..
Buy liao where and when can use I ask you?

But... my itchy hands made me do this.19

Hahahhaa. I think Bobby look yau-yeng with the stache.
But like very 奸, evil. Me? Still cute lor. What? Cannot call myself cute in my blog meh?

While waiting for Alex to pick us up..20

And it was before the security guard came over and told me,
"Sorry, cannot sit on this."

Oopsie!

This dog damn cute la wearing the xmas outfit. 21
Got sunnies lagi!

Reminds me of NBT's xmas deco last year..22

Nothing to do so took pictures again.23

Finally Alex came and picked us up.

Next stop - SEAFOOD RESTAURANT!!!!

Nope, we didn't go to those overpriced seafood restaurant in the city that slaughter tourist throat one. Instead we went to those in the ulu ulu area (sorry Sabahans... I'm not sure where's the place so I regard it as ulu) that's popular among the locals. It is like a hidden treasure you know...

Again, the advantages of having your own transport and familiar with the road there.

Salut Seafood Restaurant is the only place that Alex could drive there without making a wrong turn or sesak! His only victory in that trip actually...

Look out! Giant clams!24

Sorry, sua-ku (sakai / orang kampong) bah.. never saw such huge clams before.

Salut seafood restaurant is built on stilts above the sea *cough* Kampong Ayer Style *cough*. Very 纯朴, no fancy stuffs there. And also no air conditioners but only fresh sea breeze kissing your face.

28

Huge varieties of seafood for you to choose25

Er...  I don't choose one. I was there just to give comment on the cooking method.27

What to do? Alex and I were the uncle and auntie for the trip.
I'm the one who's always calculating on how much per person had to chip in, convert the rate for Yohei kun and stuffs like that.

29
The auntie and uncle for the trip. Or, accountant and the driver.

Oh oh, and hand sanitizer provider. Even battery adapter also Alex borrowed from me.

30
Green papaya and peanuts.

The first two dishes that were served.

See how happy Bobby and Yohei were.

We tried really really hard not to eat it before all the dishes came but.. really hungry lar.

31
That's what we ordered.

Kangkung belacan (because Yohei never tried kangkung before and he loved it), Fried dunno-what-shell-fish with garlic, steam dunno-what fish, ketam and oh-chien.

5 dishes and a pot of Chinese tea.
As for rice.. I think in total, we 8 bowls of rice.

Vict, Bobby and I each had a bowl of rice. Yohei had 3.5 bowls and Alex 1.5 bowls.

Crazy or not that Tokyo boy?
I tell you, seeing him eating will make you feel very happy one. He always had that satisfied look when he's eating.

He even took the fish bone out and ate thoroughly.

32

He even ate the fish tongue!!!
Its like seeing him french kissing the fish when he showed his tongue out with the fish tongue on top of it! URK!!!

I have never tried fish eye or fish tongue in my entire life. And, I don't know why fish head is that popular among the public too. Maybe one day, just maybe, I should be more adventurous and try them out.

I heart ketam!
33
See how perfect is my crab claw!

I kid you not. I think I'm a professional ketam-eater lor. I can skin off the ketam out from the shell perfectly one. And I won't waste any of the ketam flesh...

34

Damn clean leh...

35
Burppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp!
Opps, excuse me.

36
See how happy and satisfied was our boss Yohei.
Like hak-seh-wui tai-lou.

Wasted damn lot of tissue paper lor him. And look at his pile of bowls.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next, after a nice hot shower, we went to BintangDuit to minum kopi.

37

Errr... actually its not for the coffee. Our main motives was..
FREE WIFI!!!

What to do? We're all internet junkies wa..
Few days don't go online and check out the latest news and gossips will feel very insecure liao.
LOL.

38
L-R: Alex, Vict, Yohei and I.

 39
Don't kacau, I'm busy here.

 40
The Chalie Chubbies

And....
41
me being sua-ku again.. never see hotmail (Japanese version).

Bah.. that's it lah... Our day 2.
Will blog Day 3 soon.. I hope.
