A Week of Bliss

I'm wondering if I'm going to get 100 comments on my birthday since there's lesser commentors nowadays. *hint hint*

People, 6 more days yeah. Go write it down on a Post-it Note and stick them on your monitor.
5th of November.

*poke own face* Wah... Very tebal oh.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I love my Buddha.

Everytime when something bad happened and pulled me down giving me thoughts of giving up (for blogging), something better will occur and raise me up.

Not going to talk about what happened that made me felt so pek-cek (translation: irked) but I'm going to share with you what make my week.

Yes! WEEK!
Not day.

=D

My humble blog is Simpur Blogging Nation's featured blog this week!

Ever since Simpur started this whole blogging nation thingie, I had wonder if any day under any circumstances that my blog will get featured or not. And after 3 seconds of dreaming,

"Neh... There's nothing special about my blog. What for they want to feature me?"

But my dream comes true. Spiritual Garden is featured.

Thanks BN! You guys totally rock!

Never in my life I dream of winning or achieving something.
The curse was finally broken.

* * * * *

And if that is not enough to make me happy for the whole week, here.... something else that had kept me happy whole day long.

I'd received gifts and cards from my students.

(Let me hear, "Awww..... so sweet")

Tell me what's there not to love about being a teacher?

Someone once told me that I could have get a better job other than teaching but I immediately disagreed with her. This is by far the best and coolest job I had in my life. Of course, there are other prices to pay but its all worth it when I saw students calling out my name from far, gave me that pleasant smile and greeted me.

Even worth it when they remembered what I taught and excel in their studies.

Nothing is more returning than seeing them improve and turning into a better person.

And if one day I see a student outside of school and he/she sees me from far and turn away to avoid me, that means I'm doing a bad job being a teacher.

(Actually that's what I did when I saw my teachers. I'll approach those I like and avoid I dislike)

* * * * *

Something to ponder...

Is it normal to have like 33 notifications in the Facebook?

Or it's just me being ignorant?

Facebook makes me dizzy and I have no idea how you guys get addicted to it! There's too many invitations and request to approve or ignore. Gah.... It just keep coming back!

I have.... 19 werewolves invitations, 13 vampires invitations, 9 fighter's clubs invations, (the lists go on and on) and I thought I'm already a werewolf-cum-vampire-cum-fighter-cum-zombie?

*headache*

FYI, I logged in Facebook just to approve friends. I couldn't bother with the rest.

Oh Yeah! Let the notifications pile up till it reachers 100!

Whatever...
And no one is going to send request or invitation or draw on my wall anymore

Holiday Lodging

Short Note:

It's time to vote again. Not for me of course. For them!
Don't ask me who am I voting because I ain't telling. All I can say competition is going to be fierce and thank God I'm not in this category. Else I won't even had the chance to get nominated.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It was last Friday that I was tortured by Theen for not letting me to sleep and had my first late supper for the year. I have a habit of not eating after 8pm, not even fruits or snacks. Strictly water only. I know, I still look and weight the same mah.. no need to remind me that. *sigh*

I tumpang-ed Theen's free accommodation provided by her company for their company dinner held at Jerudong and overnight with her in the Holiday Lodge Hotel because I didn't want to wake up extra early and drive all the way up from Seria to BSB and get stuck in traffic.

I thought by that way I'll get more sleep but hell, I'm so wrong!
(Will tell you why later)

Checked in our her room at 7.30pm and off she went to her crazy party where as I drove alone to Gadong and dined in with Pingko at Tian Xing. Too bad Ye was away that night else it wouldn't be Ping and me finishing off the Crispy Egg fried abalone mushroom? while Zhi couldn't take his eyes off my Whitiee.

Yes! I'm taking my Whitiee around and trying to lure everyone getting themselves one so I'll have companions to play or race together. Nyek Nyek Nyek.

Oh by the way, I got my
It's still nicely wrapped and I'm resisting the urge to open it up.
Not easy leh I tell you. And Bobby kept teasing me with it after I told him my childhood stories of how I "opened" my birthday gifts when I was young.

Happened 16 or 17 years ago,
My mum bought me birthday gifts in advance and hid it in her car boot and I accidentally saw it. And so I bugged her and asked if it's for me. At first she lied to me that it's for her friend's kid and I sulked and ignored her thinking that she's a bad mommy, buying gifts for other unimportant people and not her own child.

She gave up and told me it's for me at last. Said that she lied because she knew I would definitely tear open the wrapping papers to know what's inside before the day came. I promised to her that I'll be good and wait patiently.

But............. I simply couldn't resist the urge to know what was it. I shook the box to guess what's inside every time I passed by it. I even dug a hole with my tiny fingers so I could see what's inside.

And of course, the hole became bigger and bigger gradually. So big that it's impossible to hide the lubang anymore and my mum saw it. She sighed and shook her head, said I might as well just opened it since like that (maciam kana tikus gigit) already.

There... story of the impatient birthday girl and her present.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I went back to the hotel room at around 10.00 pm and told myself not to think too much. No thanks to 开运鉴定团. Repeat to self: I'm safe here. Buddha is with me. Buddha will protect me.

Having nothing to do and wanted to save the battery life of my Whitieee, I was left with my last option, read. Don't ask about TV, there's only HBO and RTB1 and 2.

I nearly dozed off till Theen came back. She shared all the juicy stories of what happened at the party and how everyone was thrown in to the pool. And soon after that, her colleagues came into our room and its our time to have fun.

What fun? Nyek Nyek Nyek.

Ever see people bring this when checking in hotel room?
Am I the first? Smart leh?
We're not the first to try, as per Anon. =(

Hehehe. We did brought our lami to the hotel. But we didn't gamble. We played with chips only. Actually, that's what we always did, no money involved. Pure playing only.

Pardon that teensy-weensy eyes of mine because my cheeks are too chubby that they always menghilangkan my already-very-eyes every time I smile or laugh.

Oh, that's Chau McDotty and Pingko's korkor (elder brother) by the way. Kana forced by us to learn how to play because we didn't have enough kaki.

And after two rounds (not two sets), we gave up and jumped to the next best thing we could possibly do, i.e. SUPPER!!!!

The infamous Nasi Katok Jerudong

Click here in case you have no idea what Nasi Katok is.

Knock knock, who's there? Nasi Katok

Katok is actually "ketuk" in the Malay language, and it means knock. There is a story behind the name Nasi Katok. It was begun by a couple of teenagers who were feeling very hungry after a midnight practice. They went to a place where they normally bought their food. This place was actually a residential house, which offered Nasi bungkus (a pack of rice with chicken and egg) even in the middle of the night. At any time you could just Katok (knock) on their door, and the owner will come up with fresh hot Nasi Katok. And that's how it became Nasi Katok.

Cool huh? I didn't even know the name derived from such story.

Picture posted up to make Kelly jealous =p

And so we all returned to the hotel happily with a bulging tummy. I did felt guilty though, but since I had so many partners in crime I guess it's okay since I wouldn't be the only one who's going to put on weight.

Washed my face, changed back to my sleeping attire and I didn't brushed my teeth because.. I left my toothbrush at home (Not on purpose okay Bobby Lim!), yeah~ ready to sleep.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....
Finally, bed sweet bed.

Talked to Theen a bit and bid her good night, I turned around and closed my eyes. But Theen kept nudging me and bugged me to continue talking because she's so hyper. Been quite some time that we'd done this sleep-over thing and so she felt wasted if we couldn't talk more.

Gah.... Stupid me!!! How could I possibly forget bout the incident that happened 5 years ago when ChaiWen was sleeping on the left, and Theen on my right. They both just wouldn't shaddap and forced me to stay awake.

"Eeee... why you like that one oh? Hardly got chance to sleep over you want to sleep so early."

"Ah Nooooooooo.... Wake up! Don't sleep baaaaaaa!"

"Oi, don't sleep la you. Pig ah."

"Eh? No reply liao. Sleep already? KING!!!!!!!!! Answer me!"

Kanasai friends... Poor me.

Hello? Sleep-over. SLEEP-over? You see the word "sleep" right?
Its called sleep-over because we're sleeping over at someone's place right? So must SLEEP what. How can you still call it "sleep-over" when there's no sleeping involved? *roll eyes*

Finally I got some sleep at 2.30am. Kasian, left with 4.5 hrs to sleep only. I'm someone who need at least 6hrs of zzz a day else I'll be very grumpy for the rest of the day. Ask Bobby, he knows the best.

Guess what, that girl woke up at 5.30am and moved around restlessly again. =.=

I opened my eyes, saw her walking around in the room and talked to her a bit. And went back to sleep because it's still early. Even 5 mins seem precious when it comes to sleeping don't you think?

Then when it's almost 7.00am, even before my alarm rang.. that girl jumped on the bed and,

"Ah NOooooooOOOooooO!!! Wake up! 7 liao!"

I turned around and looked at my mobile, damn it... 3 more minutes to 7 lah. Wasted.

I dragged myself out of the bed, went to the washroom, washed up and brushed my teeth with my index finger (so pathetic) and get dressed. Put some powder and mascara and I'm ready to go. Left the room at 7.25am.

View from the forth floor

(That's all what my Lumix FX8 can do, don't complain. I don't own a DSLR. Try give me one I also can take pictures like professional. Hahhaaa)

Something I really don't miss about BSB, the TRAFFICS!
Took me 30minutes just to reach my destination.

Huge thanks to Mama Ness for lending her "Datin baju" to me. Yes dang, that's what my colleagues called it, "Datin baju". For a moment I thought I was a walking Christmas tree because its green with pwetty beads. Just kidding. =p

Oh ya, I think I forget to mention where was I going. =)

Body Contact

Short Talk:

11 more days to my birthday. Buy present for me liao or not? *eeseh*
If you don't know what to buy, come ask me.. I tell you.

Busy busy busy thus the lack of blogging. Busy with my working life, busy with my personal life too. And of course, Miss Whitiee had kept me company most of the time. Hehhee.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Went to dang's open house last Sunday with my colleague. While greeting, Shirley and her "cheek-to-cheek" salam. Then after that when we looked at each other waiting for the next step...

Me: Eh, me leh?

Ness: You? No need lah.

Me: =.="

Ness & Nonnie
Just to let you see how pwetty and cute we are. Hahahah!!!

Indeed, why is it I hugged strangers .... okay, not exactly strangers, should be people whom I'm not that close with more than my good friends.

Weird isn't it?

It's like... "Hug for what? I'm seeing you again soon what." or "You gila ah/ You sick ah? Hug what hug?". Maybe it's a Chinese thing, a Brunei Chinese thing.

And if I'm not wrong, I only hug my friends when....

1. It's their birthday, or my birthday.
2. They're leaving soon to somewhere far away and not coming back in a short term.
3. When they cried, or when I cried.

I don't boh-tai-boh-chi (without a reason) go hug people one.
Is it normal?

Even body contact feels alien to me.

FYI, I hate hate hate hate people poking my back to call me. Patting lightly is acceptable, but definitely not "poking" with your damn bloody index finger.

Mun paham bisai.

(Is that good? I mean placing the "Mun paham bisai" there. I've been wondering if I ever get to use that super Brunei slang or not and I did it. Hahahaha)

I guess I can count the number of people whom I'm comfortable with they purposely or accidentally touched me. Usually I sensed awkwardness when somebody ter-touch me. I'm not talking about private parts, I mean contacts like hand-to-hand those.

Don't get me wrong. I'm fine with hand shakes. What I was saying is...

Example:

You accidentally dropped something and bent down to reach for it. Then someone tried to pick it up for you too and thus ter-touch. *bzzzzzttttt*

(Sounds like a beginning of a romantic love story to me. LOL)

Or,

Another guy's hand accidentally touched yours while shuffling the mahjong or lami tiles.

(You rasa ah SL? Hahahhahah! I shy shy when your hand touched mine leh. =p Okay.. Bad bad. Sounds like I'm flirting. )

I ever asked SL about that and he said the same. He told me that his girl-friends back in his uni days would hooked? his arms while taking pictures and it's fine. But when its with us (the conservative Asian bunch of kanasai friends) it feels weird to him too (if he puts his arm around our shoulders I guess) .

See. We're best friends yet body contact feels so odd.

Don't know leh? Maybe because I was raised in a typical conservative family that parents wouldn't say "I love you" and hugged every time we part or meet.

And this, I have to say I find it envious for the Malays.
(Don't tell me angmoh like that also mah. I know! I'm comparing conservative races in Asia okay)

This is something I noticed.
Malays always give salam.

Malay children salam-ed their parents before they jumped off the car.
Chinese children won't bother with what their parents had been nagging throughout the entire journey and can't wait to leave the car asap and play guli or hop-rubberband with their friends.

Malay married couples will kiss and salam before they say goodbye.
Chinese couples are too shy to do so. They'll say... "酱老了, kiss 什么 kiss. 丢脸死了” (translated: So old already, kiss what kiss. Memalukan saja)

or,

“走远点死鬼, 看到你就讨厌”

Malay students will salam me every they see me.
But I bet I won't get that if I'm teaching in a private school.

* * * * *

I guess problem arises when we're too shy or too karit to show our loves. Maybe we should hug the people we love more often and not think that we'll always have chance for later before it's too late.

I want hug for my upcoming birthday ah people! A real one if possible.
After all, typing * - hug - * feel a lot less warmer on a keyboard. And I don't even know if you're going it sincerely or just layan-ing me.

Warning: Don't ching chai come and hug me if you happen to be an apposite gender. o_O

Errr.. Updates again?

. . . . .

Cannot like that lor you all. Keep bugging me for an update but don't comment wor.
Oh well, I guess the Raya fever is not over yet thus the drop in stats and comment.

Anyway, as requested by my dearie Theen... I'm posting the below pictures up and hold it as a proof. (So that 'someone' can no longer complain =p )

FYI, this "someone".

To be fair so that you guys won't go thinking she's being demanding, her birthday falls on 29th of July.. which is almost 3 months ago.

Click here and here if you had missed the previous posts.

Anyway, back to the topic.

So having quite a number of days off for the Hari Raya celebration, Theen and I finally get to lay our fingers working on Kelly's belated requested gifts.

Not bad huh? 100% made by Theen!!! Each and every step from baking to decorating. Yet she claimed its actually a failure and refused to tell us what it is till Kelly cut it.

So can you guess what cake is it?

I bet no one can. Because we couldn't tell what is it even after eating it!
We're like,

"Hmmm...... It's sweet..... I taste strawberry.... and there's a bit of coffee aroma in it. Eh? That's cheese right? . . . . *three seconds pause* Theen ah, what is it oh? "

Theen would probably scream at me for posting the above photo up because she was blocking our eyes when we tried to get a closer look of the cake and told us,

"Cannot see! Cannot see! Very sak-pai 失败 inside. Cannot see! Cannot complain! I spent a lot of money for making this, and xing-suet 心血 too! "

Despite it being a weird-combination cake, it's not bad really. Just that cake isn't really my kind of thing.

(Hint: No cake for my birthday please. I prefer salt than sugar. Still Yong Theen Theen, I want one from you, just a small small one can liao. Yi-si Yi-si 意思意思 for me to blow candles mah)

I was teasing Theen that she really bake a "CHEESE" cake 'cos got holes in them. *LOL* She thought the cheese batter would actually get those "sponge cubes?" sunk in them, laid flat and look nice in a single layer. But I guess the cake had its own character and attitude.

* * * * *

Now my dear friends and readers, get a deep breathe and behold the pwettiest and cutest and nicest and fluffiest pillow you'll ever see.

Hahahahaa. Okay, I exaggerated a bit.
It's just a normal looking pillow... No need so gan-cheong scroll down.

*Dang Dang Dang Dang*

I now present you.....

*drum roll*

Nice ah nice ah?

Oh wait, before any of you come and praise me thinking that I did those letterings... I got to clarify this.

I did NOT make those letters and leaves. I sent it to a very ganas tailor for the embroideries and damn, she's good! It's really worth the waiting and it's pretty cheap. I told her the letters I want on it, the size and color. Told her briefly what I had in mine and how I want it to be and *wa-la*, she sketched the draft out in seconds, showed me and asked if that's what I wanted. I said yes and she sat straight in front of her sewing machine and start doing it.

I was shocked how fast she could do it without any errors. And the needle was so close to her fingers! Scary.

After that I brought the fabric back home, draw the heart shape (requested by Ms. Lim) and asked my yiyi (auntie) to help me sew them because she has sewing machine and in fact, she's a tailor herself.

And later I stuffed the cotton in and sew it by hand to close up the hole.

Wait, before you go bombard me with comments like what Theen and Kelly gave, "Chewwwwww..... Thought you did those letters. Even the pillow also not fully sewed by you. So proud for what?", actually.. I spent most of my time driving around looking for a shop who do embroidery.

I did say its "customized" right? I didn't say its a DIY from me wor.

I bluff you not, I think I did surveyed not less than 10 shops. And drove up and down Seria - KB a few times just to get it done. Not to mention, the time I spent in just completing it.

Also got put in sweat and effort okay.

(And money for the fuel leh~
Okay lah Kelly Lim, I know you want to say, "Cheh! Your car diesel lah!")

* * * * * *

In case you're wondering why am I blogging less these few days, here.. my explanation.

He he he . . .

What can I say,

I super love my very advanced birthday gift!

p/s: Theen, don't forget buying me those pretty accessories for it as my birthday gift. Come, we go shopping together and I tell you which one I want ya.

// edited //

This is just too funny and I must share it with you guys!

Bobby: I wanna cook fried rice but I forgot how to cook it liao when I watch the cooking show.

Me: u put oil, then beat an egg scramble it. Add in sausage or mix veggies or whatever u want. Then add in the rice and make sure u cook them well so they don't clot in lumps. Then put dark soy sauce, light soy sauce n msg. That's it

Bobby: Do I really need to msg? Its hard to hold one phone msg while stirring the rice one hand oh. I scare the phone drop.

Me: Why u need phone?

Bobby: Put dark soy sauce, light soy sauce n msg
>> u say then msg

Me: MSG = Monosodium glutamate = ajinomoto la.. So funny eh you!

Bobby: Ohh... I don have msg bi. U use initial bag. msg stands for a lot of thing leh. don wana layan u liao, wana watch garfield.

Me: HAHAHHHAHA!! So funny la!

Bobby: I can't believe it. I finish the whole chipsmore.
Now is chipsnomore.

Cute right? He really thought msg = message (SMS texting). I was thinking, what make him think that we have to sms while cooking fried rice? Has he see any chef doing that in AFC?

Note to self: Never use short form when talking to a beginner in cooking.

My Prizes - From The Simpur Bloggies

Short Talk:

While in the midst of playing lami with the usual kakis,

Me: Eh, I haven't blog for 5 days. I feel damn guilty now lah.
Them: Why all of the sudden talk about blogging? Your turn lah.. Fast.

This is the difference "Friends" and "Readers". They don't even care if I blog or not!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Okay okay, before you come shake me and choke me to death for an update. Here here, don't marah laaaaaaa....

I was busy ma. I don't even have time to blog-hop!

I'd been traveling up and down BSB and Miri everyday for the past few days.

Monday - Go raya with dang at BSB
Tuesday - Go Miri with Theen to pick her graduation photos and see my ah pui.
Wednesday - Go BSB take my prizes from DST.
Thursday - Go Miri with Swee Leong so he can go see his physiotherapist and see my gigi besi again.
Friday - Go BSB find ah pui's sister and Orange for something.

See, I was that busy!

... which is weird. I have time to blog during my working days but not holidays?
o_O?

Got reasons for not updating. Just that... not much pictures taken because I was doing most of the driving and I'm grumpy because I couldn't find that freaking R4 card >.<"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Back to the topic. So I went to DST Headquarter to get my prizes last Wednesday and man, it felt like treasure hunting.

With Simpur Manager

I had to go to Concepts to get my speakers and headset. In case you have no idea what I won, click here.

Really, I don't mind the driving... But I hate finding parking. Sometimes I wish I drive small cars like Kancil or Mini Cooper. That way side parking will be much easier and can always squeezed in those parkings when you have idiots parked beside you taking 1/3 of your parking space.

Then I went to Orchid Garden Hotel to make some inquiries about the room...

Tell you the truth, I was thinking to hold a small party using that room for my upcoming birthday and also as a gratitude for my fellow blogmates who show support for the nominations and votes. But the plan was dropped immediately after I saw the room.

Erm.. I think it's not big enough and I doubt it's allowed to have a small gathering in it because I may disturb the guests staying on the same floor.

Oh well, have to go venue hunting again.
Suggestions anyone? Don't you tell me go get the villa from Empire ah. It's not funny.

My Goodies bag

It is almost identical with the previous one I had for winning the Tourism Brunei blogging competition.

Here, almost everything of it.

Samsung SGH-C160

Mum complained that she can't see the numbers on my old Nokia 7250 so I guess this make a better choice. And it took me almost half an hour just teaching my phone how to unlock the phone, make a call and hang up.

No need to think about SMS-ing.
It's like teaching a mute how to sing, a blind man plays TV games and a deaf talks over the phone.

I even have to do this so that she can remembers HER number and MINE!

(If you see any middle aged auntie carrying a black Samsung with a piece of blue paper celotape-d behind, say "hi" to King's mummy)

Me: Ma, you try to call me.
Mum: Ha? Oh.

She took one second to press "Unlock", and by the time she reached for the "*" key... hilang already the "unlock".

As I watched impatiently, I took over the phone and unlock for her.

Me: Bah, I unlock liao. Now you dial my number ah~
Mum: Oh.

Mum : *Looked at the back of the phone* Eight....
Mum: *Press eight on keypad*
Mum" *Looked at the back of the phone again* Seven.....
Mum: *Press seven on the keypad*

Me: -________-" Ma, its 87xxxxx.

Mum: Okay, x........ x.......... x......... x...... x........ x........

Me: After so many years I'd been using a mobile phone, with the same number. You still can't remember the number? You better remember it ah.

Mum: Aiyah.. not like I'll call you. I don't want people to know I have a mobile also. Very troublesome. Go toilet also have to bring, so ma-fan.

Me: -_________-" *puke blood*

Guess what, now she just leave her spanking new mobile phone with her MP3 player in a small pouch, and prays it will never rings. And that was after I found out that she purposely leave the mobile inside the wardrobe so that she didn't have to bring it.

Tell me again why I want her to bring a mobile with her.

*high blood pressure*

DST Optical Mouse

Funny it has the "wireless" word at the back of it.

"Hey I got a wireless optical mouse that gives cable to be connected to the PC for free!

LOL! I know I know. I'm lame.

Altec Lansing VS-2120

Giving them to Cong (My "little-brother" cum neighbor) because I like my VS-4121 better.

Thermal Mugs

Now I have 3 mugs, 2 from Simpur and 1 from DST. And I gave them away to Theen and my father.

So this is how Santa Claus feels every year.

Updates

Selamat Hari Raya to all my muslim friends and readers!
Eat more kuihs ya, it's okay to be fat this month.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

In case any of you had been visiting this blog like every 2 hours and got fed up because the lazy blogger is procrastinating.... Here, I'm updating for the sake of updating.

But no worries, no copy paste jokes or lyrics.
Just photos and updates of what I'd been up to lately. (Bet Bobby is the only one looking forward to see the pictures because he had not seen me for 2 weeks plus.. Yeah, the prom was the last time we met. Sad hor?)

So lemme see,

I went to an 1 year old toddler's birthday. It seems like I just received a text from Orange telling me that she just gave birth to a baby boy yesterday and now.... One years old already. *sigh* Damn, people 24 years old happily married with two kids. And look at me, same same 24 years old still waiting.

(okay okay, I know some of you my friends are going to bombard me with, "Oi! I'm already twenty- (secret number) and one boyfriend also don't have. You got Bobby already, don't complain many many there ah! Diam." )

Ah King Yi Yi, Orange Mummy and Baby Junho

Seriously, I felt like a so huge standing beside Orange... I always tell her that I wish I have a smaller size so that can act "manja" and look underage.

Smaller size girls look so cute when they did that and everyone will go "Aaawwwwww..." and Ok-ed whatever they said or requested. And if I did that, my friends will tell me stop being disgusting and ask me to go away.... See, life is unfair.

When I was 17, people thought I was 23.
Theen is already 25, and people thought she's 20.

WHY???? Just because she's cute and short?
If that's the case... I want to be short tooooooooooo!!! (Even though I'm not very tall myself)

And, shorter = smaller size = smaller waist = lighter weight.
Erm..... Not applicable to Doraemon and Eric Cartman.

* * * * *

Junho is very chubby and weight only 2kg lesser than his 3 years old sister!!! I bet if I need to carry him everyday I'll have arms like Popeye's.

Still, envy lah.

Orange often told me in MSN that she read my blog with envy because I have such interesting life. And my reply was always... "Har? Interesting meh? I think yours is more interesting eh."

No meh? Watch how the baby grow day by day, grow the first tooth, crawl for the first time, call "Mama" and etc. And what I did was blog about where I went and what I did, and it all started because I was bored.

Life, I see her good, she sees me good.

So we just got to cherish what we have now and stop thinking that others are better of.
We can be the better one and it's all up to our mind-set.

=)

Damn... Did I just give lecture like an old nanny again?
Sorry.

So now I tell you how did my first day of Raya went.

Nope, there won't be any pictures of satay or rendangs or ketupat. Nor group photos of any sort. I 'celebrated' it more or less like how I did for my Chinese New Year 2007.

Yeap, the same way with the same people. Minus Bobby.
That heartless fat guy didn't want to see me.

.... that is not quite true. I just made it up because I'm pissed at him for not putting any effort to see me during his study week. Okay la... study week is for study, and I shouldn't be complaining. But I miss him mah. *Flash kitty eyes*

* * * * *

SL and I went up BSB to pick Theen up from the airport. She went for a 2-weeks training in Singapore and she's bringing back my birthday gift (which I'm not going to say what it is till my birthday post) from Iwan. So must treat her good good.

We looked up at the board checking if her flight had arrived or not but.... it's not working lah. But there's a TV hanging beside it with the flight infos.

But, the thing is....... they didn't put up any status of the flight such as "Landed" or "Delayed". So we just waited like idiots till we saw some flight attendants walked out.

We guessed, a single young lady should come out earlier than the others because she has less luggage to carry, no husband to follow, no kids to shout at and hold hand and no elderly parents to take care of.

But we're so wrong. That auntie came out last.
Why?

Because she had lots of luggages and boxes.
And two bottle of liquors to declare....

We're like, "Eh, you move house is it? Why so many things one?"
Then when we saw that two bottles, "Wah lau eh.... you this alcoholic ah! Since when you start buying liquor?" And she explained 80% of the stuffs she's bringing belongs to others. And the liquors are for her wedding night. She's a good girl okay.

And so went to have dim sum for breakfast, then off to Gadong to catch a movie.
But... the movie started at 2pm and we had like, 2+ hours to kill.
So we went K-boxing and act like 12 years old. Hahahhahaa

Neh, you thought I have a video clip of us singing leh?
Ha Ha Ha. Slow slow wait, wait long also don't have.
But can say I sang the most because the other two couldn't read Chinese and follow it.

SL letting go of his frustrations

Lucky he didn't have to go offshore that day else the fun would be so much lesser. But what's the point, he's leaving tomorrow and spoiled our plan of going Miri overnight together. The worst thing of all is, he won't be there for MY BIRTHDAY, THEEN'S BIRTHDAY AND HIS OWN BIRTHDAY!!! And this is already his 3rd of 4th time missing it! Gah, stupid [Sl's company name].

My four seater, open roof sport car

Tell you one funny thing.

Theen and SL wanted to play the DDR at the arcade. I just stood aside and watched as usual because I sucked at it. [Refer to this entry] So both of them passed me their wallets, keys, mobile phones and bags to get ready.

And, just less than 10 seconds... they game over liao!
HAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!
Damn throw face can. Got people standing beside watching leh.

Okay, actually I'm the one who embarrassed them because I laughed too loud and I can't even play for more than 5 seconds, can't even get any combo for the 1-foot level. So I got no right to laugh at them.

* * * * *

Feeling hungry and off we went to Dome for a light tea.

more like breakfast actually

And SL just wouldn't eat without finishing the crossword puzzle at the kid's menu....

* * * * *

After that we went to watch "The Magic Gourd". I know, we had so many choices and we chose a cartoon in the end. That's because I don't watch horror/ thriller so "RE - Extinction" is off the list. I'd watched "Balls of Fury" already and the rest of the movies don't really attract us.

The movie was okay, prefer if it's in Cantonese and not Mandarin.
I was wishing that I have a DVD player controller on my hand so that I could change the audio. But the moral of the movie is good, albeit with a predictable moral at the end of the film and it reminds me of Doraemon. They both spoil their owners by granting wishes.

* * * * *

Last last we wanted to go NBT to take pictures but we thought it'll be weird because we're not Muslims and the real reason behind was, we're all tired already.

So I just took this picture from my car and drove back to Seria.

Cabinet Makeover

I'd been wanting to this for a loooooooooooooooong long time!

Paint that ugly cabinet!

Yesterday is the first day of the Raya holiday and obviously it has nothing to do with me since there's nothing at home that had to be stocked and I don't know how to fold a ketupat.

And so I went shopping...... Paint shopping~

(I don't go out shopping without knowing what I want to buy. It's a good practice, keep me focus and spend less. )

There, spent a total amount of B$ 15.80 in getting the below stuffs...

1L of white paint - $10
100ML of black paint -$1.80
That wider paint brush (black bristles)- $1.80
The other smaller brush (white bristles) - $2.20

(I know I should buy sand paper and scrub the surface first but... I thought it's ok to skip that step. Actually... I purposely "ter-lupa" that so I don't need to do the tedious job. And also the thinner.... *Sigh*)

Consider pretty cheap for a makeover right?

Actually what I had in mind is just to paint the ugly neon colour rabbits away and give the cabinet a new look. Nothing fancy.

Ugly right? I thought this ugly print was quite popular 10, 15 years ago. Saw it almost in every shelves and cabinet at any furniture store.....

Come on la... Who likes a NEON colour rabbit?

Hmm.. Maybe the designer's purpose was to scare the kids away so they wouldn't amai-tangan go and open it up.

And when I told Kelly that I'm painting the cabinet, she said.."Buy new one laaaaaaa...".I don't know for you but I'm a typical Chinese who loves to quote, "Can use, don't waste." Sayang also if just throw away. It just need a little modification that's it.

Don't judge a cabinet by its cover mah...

Boys, you don't dump your girlfriend because they get old and ugly right? You bring them to saloon and beauty parlor and give them a make over. Or maybe ask her to get a face lift or botox. Oh, make sure you foot the bills too.

Of course, the first thing I did was lay some old newspaper on the floor so it wouldn't get stained.

Then tore away any stickers or what so ever because the surface need to be smooth. Its better if I use a sandpaper and scrub it but like I said, I was too lazy...

Shake the tin can before applying.
I don't know, I'm just following the instructions printed at the back.

Took the brush, dipped into the paint bucket and off we go.

Sekali, after my first brush I baru realized there's one more sticker I forgot to tear down... Why am I so careless?

This one

The red little tanglong shape sticker was my mum's work.

She loves putting this kind of sticker with auspicious word on it like 發 "Fa" (which means "Wealth", I think? I'm not good in translating these fengshui stuffs..), and 滿 "Man" (which means "Full") on our rice bucket and lately her favorite is 愛﹐ 感謝 "Ai, Gan-Xie" (meaning "Love, Gratitude").. I see it on the TV, my CPU, the water filter, fridge, basically all the electrical appliances you can find in my house la.

And now it looks like this...

*Sigh*

Can't really see from far though... =p

Yes, I'm aware of the fact that I had paint dripped all over and when my mum got home and saw the mess I created, she terus shouted .... "Oh my god" (in Foochow).

She took a closer look and start complaining. Say I wasn't patient enough and slowly paint it, say I wasn't detail and careful enough not to have drips on the board...

Sigh. I'm such a failure.

But it's okay. I'm happy enough for having a mother like her because she let me do what I want to the cabinet. When I told her that I want to paint it, guess what she said...

"Malay Raya, you also raya is it?"

-________- "

The white paint took me 5+ hours to get dry and spoiled my plan. I was thinking to surprise my mum with the end result but instead she saw the messiest part.... Darn it.

She just shoo-ed me away from the kitchen because she need to cook and asked me to continue my great work the next morning. And shook her head, took the paint brush and re-paint the part I'd done badly.

Seriously, the paint looked okay from far. But if you take a closer look.... it looks like the coarse and wrinkled face of an old man. My advice, leave the painting job to the professional. Don't try to act smart like me.

So today once I opened my eyes, brushed my teeth and washed my face, I straight away continue my makeover plan.

This is my sketch of what I wanted to paint on the cabinet..

I hope you're not thinking that I'll just leave it all white and do nothing about it after painting.
Of course I'll draw something on it.

Since it's going to be a kitchen cabinet putting my mum's wok, pots and container in.. so I wrote "What's cooking?" and draw a picture of a stick girl with a stove.

I only got a Pass for my PMB art... You can't possibly ask more than a stickman okay. That's my max already. Don't complain.

* * * * *

But somehow... it didn't quite turn out what I imagined....
Here goes,

*Da Da*

The end result

Erm... hope its not too bad. Wonder what will be my mum's reaction after seeing this cute artwork of mine. Hehehehe.

If you think it's still hideous..... rub your eyes and open them big.
See again.

Not bad right?
