The Robe, the cap and the Graduation Bear

Actually there were a lot of things that happened last Friday but I thought it wouldn't be nice if I blogged about it because it involved other people whom wanted to keep a secret.

So... ssshhhhH!!!!!

- I have great, fabulous and stouthearted colleague who isn't afraid to fight for what she thinks is right and I'm proud of her and admire her courage.

Mm... Yeah...

I met the Lims at around 1.30pm, went in their hotel room and we took turns to get dress. It wasn't as awkward as I thought, in fact.. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. And by the time everyone was ready and made a move to his campus, Mother Nature decided to pull a little joke on us.

We were all stranded in his car from the heavy downpour, waiting and praying for the rain to stop so that he could wear his graduation robe and took photos in the campus for bitter-sweet remembrance.

And finally almost 30 minutes later, the sky slowly cleared up and tiny bit of rays shone through.

He took out the robe from a plastic bag and wore it.
Bright pink.. =D

A friendly note to passersby, I'm sorry if you're getting sick seeing his face in my blog. Just to remind you again, this IS my blog and he is a very important person to me. You might not like him, or me.. but it is no concern to me. Sekian. Keep those emotions to yourself, you need not express it here.

The Lims and Me

Found this label in his cap and...

,laughed at the thin red line on his forehead.

"I heard people with bigger head are smart, are you?"

I bumped into Steffi that day too! It was quite a big surprise for me because I thought she was still working in BSB and had no idea that she had quited to pursue her studies. I admired her courage and also her relationship with her boyfriend. It's never easy to maintain a relationship for a long term don't you think?

(Hi Steff! I know you're reading this and I regretted not taking a picture with you... Sigh.)

Fast forward 2 hours later, we arrived Imperial's Ballroom as Bobby wanted to take his graduation photos there. The ceremony started at 7.00pm and we're already reached there at 4+ pm.

The bear that cost RM120

I asked him if he preferred a teddy bear or a bouquet and he answered both, because he had never received any of those. Greedy pig. So I intended to buy him those teddy bouquet while he was having the photo shoot session.

Erm.. I wasn't very happy about the blood-sucking photo studio too. They charged Bobby an extra RM80 just to have his sister in the family portrait. I repeat, extra person.. not extra shot! They claimed that "Family" only includes father and mother.

How great.

Those bouquet cost RM100+, which was more that what I can afford with the leftover RMs in my wallet. So I opted for a single stalk teddy, which is going to be cheaper.

I asked the girl who was working there for the price and she answered RM28. But later she turned her head and asked her colleague/ lady boss to confirm the price and the lady said "Ching-chai lah, 20 also can".

I turned the teddy-stalk around looking for flaws, because.. the sudden $8 discount seems kind of fishy. Without filtering much using my brain, I asked the lady if its dirty or what. I swear, I asked in a nice way and not trying to sound like those fussy lady asking for discount again. My friends should all know that I'm terrible in bargaining and I don't like to bargain, because I had bad experiences when I worked as a salesperson few years ago.

She explained because of the colour combination, using an impatient tone.
The teddy was brown in colour and the wrapping paper was cream.

I stood there and thought again if I should buy it, just when I was about to reach for my wallet in my bag... the impatient lady snatched the teddy from me and claimed,

"You don't like, you don't want, but a lot of people will like and buy!"

*Grrrrrrrrr*
How impolite!

Of course, it totally spoiled my day and I walked away.

I told Theen andSL about this and they said its my own fault for asking "why is it so cheap? Dirty ah?" and said I should have straight away grab it if there's nothing wrong with the product and pay. -__-"

Whatever happens to "Consumer Rights".....

My tired swollen feet

Graduates rehearsing...

I was so not used to their system. I couldn't believe that they only get to rehearse 30mins before the ceremony started! The graduates were asked to go into the ballroom while parents and friends were still waiting outside, the MC gave them a rough idea how to do it and asked a couple of students to "test run". If I'm not wrong, not more than 10 graduates went up for the rehearsal.

Such a big contrast compare to Brunei.

I remember that we had rehearsals 3 days before the convocation. All students were asked to stand in line and went up the stage and performed what were asked to do, making sure that no one will make any mistakes while getting our certificates from His Majesty or His Royal Highness.

Inside the ballroom

My view blocked by their "buns"...

"The Three Stooges"

Like what I mentioned in the previous post, I didn't get to see Bobby going up the stage and received his certificate because I had to rush for the borders... And Cheh-Cheh Lim's camera battery died just when he's up there. Sad huh?

Just hope that the official photographer did snapped a nice photo of him.

p/s: I wore his robe just for the thrill of it and I don't know if I should post it up.
