The Green Nasi Lemak

Yeap, its green!
Am I the only being sakai here for wow-ing on a GREEN nasi lemak?
smile_eyeroll

Today is my lucky day.
Started on a brand new area today and met this great pair of mother and daughter. Little did I know that I was actually kacau-ing them because they're preparing for the evening business, selling nasi lemak.

Maybe because the auntie sama-sama Hu-chew-neng (Foochow people) like or I’m too cute and adorable *puke*, she insisted that I brought home with her nasi lemak and try it.

“If nice then you introduce your friend ah… If not nice you just diam diam ah~”

So funny. Hehehehe.

She feels so much like my mum. The way she speaks those Mandarin with heavy Foochow accent and man… seriously, Foochow are great cooks! *Cough* Cos I’m one myself too! *Cough*

I guess I do look like part of them albeit my dark skin tone, people actually looked at me and said things like, “Nasi lemak, 4 packets” when I was in the middle of doing my job!

Those nasi lemak, really, I’d never gobbled down one whole packet of nasi lemak in just 5 minutes. Honestly, I’m not a great fan of sambal because its always too spicy for me. And I don’t know why, most sambal comes with a weird stench that I totally hate. First thing I do when eating nasi lemak, scoop off the sambal.

Sambal = Dip for the chicken

But today, the auntie’s sambal…. really, aiyerrrr… very ngam my taste lah. Not spicy, not oily, and a little sweet too.

And those greenish pandan rice, haih, the fragrant is still flowing around in my room as I typed this post. Okay la, I know a bit kua-cheong. But, I just want you all to know that nasi lemak very nice mah.

Nasi lemak costs $2 per pack, or $2.50 for a bigger portion. Totally worth very penny out of it compare to those stupid one they sell in the restaurant with no kam-cheng and small piece of shrunken chix wing due to recession.

Ask me where to get those if you’re dying to know.
LOL. Or maybe, I was the one being slow and lagging for not knowing that such nice nasi lemak has existed long ago.

When i look at the map i'm still abit blur, but when i look at the nasi lemak, ah ha! This is the nasi lemak that i love the most, or i should say not only me but my whole family, hehe. If my mum doesn't cook for the dinner, we will ring and say, 'Aunty, tapao 3 packets with extra chicken, will pick it up 15 minutes later.' =)And yes, they exist in Brunei long time ago, used to sell in Tamu Kianggeh ;o)

I thought people living in that area are mostly chinese. So, is it halal? Just curious.
