Carnival / Annual Leaves for the spirits

2009 is a very interesting year.

Why?

Because, today (20/08/2009) is the first day of the seventh month for Chinese calendar and tomorrow (21/08/2009), or Saturday (22/08/2009), will be the the start of Ramadan.

You get me now?
Not yet?
Bah.

In Chinese tradition, the seventh month in general is regarded as the Ghost Month (鬼月), in which ghosts and spirits, including those of the deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm.

Whereas for muslim on the other hand, there will be no ghost in the month of Ramadan.

See the conflict here?
