The Belated (Surprise) Birthday Celebration

Short Note:
Spirithrift is updated! Go have a look.

Due to the reason that Bobby has to work on Friday, so instead of celebrating it on the actual day, we postponed it to Saturday.

No rush, no frills.

But during the lunch date we had, Bobby told me a rather bad news saying that there’s few glitches in the company’s system and if the problem remain unsolved, he might need to stay back to work during the weekend. And of course, he’ll try his best to make it for our agreed date.

And on Saturday morning, I happily updated my FB status stating that I was so going to be Queen for the day having Bobby coming down to pick me up for a fabulous date. Just minutes after posting it up, Bobby came to me with a rather bad news….

He’s in the office trying to solve the problem now and he couldn’t promise that he’ll be able to make it for the date.

With a heavy heart, I prayed and hoped and wished that the problem will be answered but in the end, Bobby confirmed that he had to stay back the whole day and had to cancel my already-belated-now-tak-jadi-lagi birthday celebration.

Sigh.

But being the super sweet and understanding girlfriend that I should be, I didn’t scream nor cry or went all berserk swearing at him. Just replied him that I understand and it’s fine…

Sad till I couldn’t bear to see my FB profile because the stupid status is mocking me.

So, having no back-up plan no nothing, I just did what I always do on a typical afternoon, nap.

Then FussyKelly texted me and asked me out for dinner.

I felt really reluctant and it’s quite obvious.

I was sulking because I was expecting them to ask me out on my birthday but they didn’t. Now baru ask.. late a bit or not oh….

But then, I had nothing better to do anyway. So I agreed to go with a sibeh bu-gan-yen (tak rela / unwilling) mood.

In the end, SL texted me that he’ll pick me up at 7pm.

So okay lor.
He picked me up at 7pm, I was wearing my dirty cloths from yesterday’s lunch date with Wei Kee and Xiao Yen, hair still dripping water because I showered late and didn’t have enough time to towel dry my hair.

Oh oh, my hair dryer rosak and that’s another reason.
(Hair dryer is, was my birthday wish list that I planned to ask the besties to buy me this year. LOL)

Sitting in the car, I asked SL where are we heading to. He answered Bucanneer.
(Crap! I can’t spell Buccaneer! Is it double C, double E or what? Hai yah…)

Me : WHY BUCCANEER? WHO PICKED BUCANEER ONE?! EEYER! I WEAR TILL SO UGLY! WHY GO BUCANEER WOR? SIEN EH…..

SL (with a   tone) : Don’t ask me.. I follow orders nia one…

Sekali……. 7.30pm liao that da-xiao-jie FussyKelly hadn’t arrived yet.
Dulan till me ahhhhhh….

Damn hungry liao lagi.

I didn’t care and went on ordering what I wanna eat.

Theen: Har? You wanna order liao ah? You don’t want to wait for them?

Me : WHY HAVE TO WAIT? THEY LATE WOR! I VERY HUNGRY AND DULAN NOW! I DON’T NEED THEIR APPROVAL FOR WHAT I WANT TO EAT WHAT. I WANT TO ORDER NOW!

See how dulan was I…
(I’m a very horrible person when I’m hungry. Feed me and I’ll be very nice to you)

Then came Kelly and KL.
I was still sulking.

When we’re all talking, I slammed myself on the table and kept chanting how hungry was I. I took a glimpse on the door and saw shadow of a man holding flowers thinking,

“Ee yer, dunno which salao there… “

Yes, you guess right.
That salao is Bobby.

He came in with a big bouquet of lilies.
I was shocked.
Not in a happy jumpy way that you saw on movie ah, like those happy girl jumps on to her lover and round 3 rounds macam di pantai.

Tabalik, I wasn’t even laughing or smiling.

Me: Eh why you here? Your work finished liao ka? Problem solved already?

Bobby : Mmm… errr… you want to take the flower first?

Me : You lie to me hia? Aiyer, so malu got flowers lagi..

Bobby : Ba, you gonna take the flowers or not?

Me : Ba, sit lah.. Eh, you lie to me is it?
*@@#!#@%^%^&%$ (bombarded Bobby with long strings of questions)

Then all my friends were like, Eh… people so far come down plan all these lagi, why your reaction like that one oh?

Ya, only after like 5 minutes, I baru felt awake and acted normally giggling and laughing like my usual self. Yes, took me 5 minutes to register the idea that Bobby planned this all up and threw me this surprise party.

Now, photos time.

02
The man behind all these. You know, he looks damn sincere and so when he’s lying, I can’t even tell the difference. Dangerous eh!

And my lilies.
Nice kan? MY favorite flower~

The last time he bought me lilies was when he made me super angry by being late.

 01

Then Kelly came up to me with a smaller bouquet of flowers and told me that was why she’s late. The small bouquet of flowers is what I picture my wedding bouquet to look like on my wedding day eh!

So pretty!

04

And, the girls said that the “fail” thing about this surprise was… I under-dressed and didn’t put on any makeup.

Note to self: PUT ON MAKEUP, WEAR LIKE A BUTTERFLY EVERYWHERE YOU  GO!

03
Darlings. Theen, Kelly and the makeup-less me with oily face and wet hair (had to tie them up so I wouldn’t look that bad)

05
See, the same shirt I wore to my lunch date with Wei Kee (left) and Xiao Yen (right)

06

Fooooooooooooooooooooooood! My Roast Spring Chicken and Bobby’s Black Pepper Chicken. B$ 9 each. Lovely!

07

Bobby did that very lao-tu (old fashion / kampung) thing again. Asking the restaurant to play me the Happy Birthday song while he took the cake out for me.

Buccaneer and Buccaneer, can upgrade the birthday song or not? Very embarrassing having the kiddie version played with the “How old are you now?”

08

I love the cake. It’s Mango cheese cake from Bakerlyn.
Small small I like.

09
Everyone of us
Bobby, James, KL, SL
King, Theen, Kelly.

10
Kelly bought Theen flower too~
So sweet right?
Friendship maintenance wtf. HAHHAHHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAA.

11
Oh oh, the present is from Theen. My second gift of 2009.
Kerlian hor, as you get older, the less number of gifts you get for your birthday too.

12
Gorgeous gifts from the people I love.

13
Sorry ah, camwhore a bit.

Theen’s gift to me is…..

14
Ceng ceng ceng, hair dryer!
WHICH I WANTED FOR MONTHS BUT WAS TOO KARIT TO BUY AND DIE DIE WANT TO WAIT TILL BIRTHDAY AND “WAT” MY FRIENDS TO BUY FOR ME.

And this, is going to be my birthday gift from Kelly.
Hope it’s going to be good.

Then came my birthday card from my man….

It’s a really unique birthday card. Love the idea.
My boyfriend is creative-r than yours.

15

Can tell what is it?
It’s a MOBILE PHONE!

Brand - Nonnie, Series – A Plus (pasal my result)

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLLLL!

What? Don’t look like a phone?
Ya lor, at first I also thought it’s a PSP.
Hahahahha

16
The Menu.
The last bit that he has not color.
He was like, “Eh.. can you give me 5 minutes? I need to complete your card…”

He said he has some coloring to do and I volunteered to help him.
So yeah, I’ll be the one coloring the menu page later.

17

It’s a slide qwerty phone ah don’t play play.
Really can slide up one okay.
Like dopod. Hehehheeh

(And when Bobby saw Vky’s SideKick that swirls, he felt so defeated that he should have used that idea instead)

18
Message to me.
My boyfriend is the best!

Then, he showed me this again… the back of the “phone”

19

Then,

20

21

Complete one leh!!
Damn keh-si lah my birthday card.
Where to find boyfriend like that?
All original one leh.
No stickers, no colorful cards from scrapbook stores.
Just art block, color pencils and 3 pins.

22
Damn happy exploring my birthday card~

23
The artist. AHHAHAHHAAHHAHAHA.

Oh oh, this is totally random…

24
my books from Eslite arrived liao.

Those comic books are damn jackass funny! One is about happenings in the office, and the other one is about showbiz.
By a popular TV producer in Taiwan. Aiyah, say liao you all also don’t know one lah.

I found part 1 of both comics in Popular 12 years ago. Never knew got part 2 till I browse Eslite website. Macam stumble upon pot of gold like that.

Read some comic stripes to Bobby and he also felt very funny and kek-tiok by the dialogues.

And the other novel, no need introduction liao.

25
piau liang mah?

Went to KB wet market upstairs to have breakfast.
Eh, that place got formal name or not ah?
A bit paiseh cos everytime only call it “Pasar upstairs” nia.

My favorite breakfast place despite of the heat.

26
Our crazy brunch.

  • (Zhu Jak) Porridge for each of us - $1.80 each
  • $1 cha-koi (still crunchy!)
  • Fried Kuay Tiaw with sunny side up - $2.30
  • American breakfast - $2.50 (Yes! That big plate of fries/2 sausages/bake beans/toast/coleslaw/sunny side up is only $2.50! Don’t chu wish you live in KB town? Don’t chuuuuuuu~)
  • Teh C panas ($0.60 each)

You Bandar people don’t come down and keep saying Seria/KB food very cheap ah. Later those vendors hear you naik harga I kill you ah! Don’t spoil market. Hahahhaa.

Don’t chuuu wish you live in Kay Bee town?
Don’t chuuu wish the food is super cheap?
Don’t chuuu wish you can eat like this?
Don’t chuuuuuuuuuu
Don’t chuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu~

Hahhahaa.

Went for a little shopping and bought this~

27

28

Hahahaa. It’s something like Jengga but I don’t know, this is cuter~

Nikki : Ano ano~ Still super nice the smell in my room

Pu-3 : LOL. I guess he has this "artistic" genes in him. Well, I kinda trained him from the very beginning.

No commercial cards from stores, only handmade cards allowed. So have to be really competitive and creative to come up with new ideas everytime.

I think you mean clothes (baju), not cloths (kain)?
