Shall I spring clean my "Friendster"?

Nonnie says:
Don't tell me you don't know what is "Friendster"... If you really don't know, then you can go back and live in your cave and ignite a fire with stones liao.

(Blogging like writing a composition from a Primary kid)

Everyone has a Friendster account.

I myself have one too.

I have 259 friends and 60 testimonials.

There are people, or "friends" in my list that I don't even know who the heck are them.

There are stupid testimonials too. (Like asking me to "Stay Cute Forever")

Some people have 652145 Friends and Friendster Account I, II, III, IV, V !

I don't know how they did it.

Maybe their hobby is "Collecting Friends".
(What happened to our old favourite hobbies like collecting stamps?)

Maybe they want to be famous?

Maybe they are so kiasu that they want to compete with their others kiasu friends?

I don't want to "pollute" my Friendster by having a lot of "Ah Cats & Ah Dogs" and nonsense testimonials...

Shall I do some spring cleaning without people thinking I'm such a b*tch?

So, you see my question.. To clean or not to clean?

My Profile.. Pathetic but proud of it.

Proud because most of the people, or "Friends" inside are really someone I know. I think I only have an average of 2 ah-mao (people I don't know) per page.

As for testimonials.. Erm.. I think 3/4 of it are all really testimonials and not "GoodLuck" and "Friends Forever" type.

What kind of testimonial is this?
A Glittering "WOW" !

And this....
We even have Chain Testimonials nowadays

I realised most of my friends.. (My age group) only has an average of 230 friends, which I think is normal and acceptable. No fancy stuff, no embedded background music, not having 5 video clips in one page, not much of fancy testimonials...

Or maybe we're just getting OLD!

Those who have most of the above are mostly 18 and below :p
I know not every 18-ners are like that lah... But you gotta admit, MOST of them are~

But, if I really go and "clean up" my Friendster, as in deleting unknown people and stupid testimonials, won't people think that I'm rude, or sombong, or what so ever bad things that people can think of?

To delete, or just ignore it?

Brunei Newspaper

Remember the accidents I saw last weekend? I was quite concerned about it and decided to go buy newspaper the next day to see if the people involved are all fine.

Borneo Bulletin...News not covered.
Borneo Bulletin

Brunei Times, don't have also.
Brunei Times, just launched last month.

I have to admit... Bobby and I both hesitated about buying Brunei Times because it 's so damn THIN! Yes, you read THIN! And it cost the same to Borneo Bulletin.

(Bobby's paying for Brunei Times.. just for comic strips inside)

Ok lah... I understand that Brunei Times is still new .. But... having 12 pages of papers selling for B$1.00.... I can't help but felt it's so NOT worth it.

Comparing with my dad's monthly subscription of Chinese newspaper...
See Hua Daily (B$26.00 per month)

Thick!Super "kau" compare to BB & BT
Just like comparing Teh-C-Kau with Kopi-O-Kosong

Over flooded with news & informations..
(ok.. I admit I only read the "entertainment" pages sometimes)
International news, local news (Malaysia), Brunei Headlines,
Entertainment, and one extra issue on Health every Sunday.

Now I remember why I was being so karit and don't feel like buying any of these papers.
Except when I need to find myself a new job and look at the "Classified" section.
I can just go online and visit Brudirect and BB online what~

And yah, if I wanna read Borneo Bulletin, I can read it in my school library, for free :p

Kambadeh Local Newspaper !
If you're thick (or fat) enough one day, I'll buy you!

Two days in a row.. Accidents in Highway

Nonnie says:
Two days in a row on our way to and from BSB, we saw road accidents and got stucked in the traffic (Cos people kaypo drive very slow and see non-stop there). Am I "lucky" or what? Hmm... Feel so much like a reporter. Maybe I can be a part time one. *Bleh*. And NO, I don't feel happy or excited seeing road accidents!

Heard from Bobby that yesterday one driver did passed away... Condolences to the family.

I don't know what happened to this car that made it set on fire.

But I do know this.. Dear all drivers, please kindly check your car and bring it to the workshop frequently. Servicing your transport is equally important to driving safely on the road.

(I don't know whether this will be covered in Borneo Bulletin or Brunei Times tomorrow. So, you people who's reading now, consider yourself lucky able to see these pictures. Copyrights~)

Weekend: 12 August 2006

Because I was lazy to drive, I sort of trick Bobby to come all the way down from BSB picking me up from Seria... Distance? Mm.. About 80km~ Haha. Just one hour ride mah. What are boyfriend for? To be our driver/ shopper/ cockcroach killer/ mechanic/ plumber/ coolie / ....~ Agree? Nyek nyek. Oh..btw.. just to let you all know, I'm not afraid of cockcroach.. I'm the one who save Bobby from it. I'm the Heroin!

Back to the topic. So, Bobby and I decided to try out the new Japanese restaurant, Sushi Tei, go watch "Click" and jalan-jalan in Gadong... cos I miss BSB whole lot.. *Sniffs*

On the way up BSB

Traffic... at the highway, which is so rare... So, we predicted there was a car accident ahead. But it seems kinda serious seeing Bomba(s) around a lot car parking at the road side kaypo-ing helping.Yeah. The accident was real bad. I think there were two (2) lamp posts kana langgar and were taken down. Thought there was only 2 cars involving in it.. but till we went further.. it was a lot more worse than what we imagine.

A Blue Lexus Dunno-what-model and a Altezza. It freaks me out when I saw how the Altezza was badly damaged , practically, the whole front part looked... Gone!

I didn't took any pictures cos I was scared, and worried about the drivers. Just pray to God that they're all fine.

Dear all drivers, please remember the saying "Better Late Than Never"! Drive safely. You have your families so do others.

Ok.. Reached BSB. First stop... Sushi Tei!

It looks quite nice.. the renovation and environment...

We didn't make any reservations so we just wait there and I took some pictures.

Bobby says he likes this one.. The ladies looked like they wanna fight like that.

Finally, after 5 minutes of waiting. We have our table.

Sushi Tei's menu

Honestly speaking, I think that Excapade offers more varieties and choices. And, the portion is bigger over there too. As for the price, they're more or less the same.

Shake. Our favourite. Can't help comparing the size.

Uni Nigiri !

I'm been craving for Uni for such a long long time. All because I see too much of those Tawain TV program showing the faces of those hosts saying how delicious is Uni. And it's only B$4.00 on the menu. Of course must order and try lah.

If you don't know what Uni is..

Ans: Sea Urchin

How does it taste like?

According to this blog,
the best uni ever is when it tastes like the sea, reminds you of swimming in the ocean.

My Uni taste like longkang-cui (water from drain) and remind me of water in toilet bowl. Haha. Just kidding~ It doesn't taste that bad lah. But, I'm not saying that it's delicious. Rate 4/10 lah.

But I'll still order it if another Japanese restaurant has it on their menu. Just to confirm is it me or the Uni is not fresh.

The restaurant is still very new.. So I forgive them for serving the food real slow. And the customer service for the waiters and waitress still needs improvements, and I think they're not even familiar with their own menu.

That's Bobby waiting for his Grill Salmon Bento.
I had already finished my Unagi Don

Of course, I was sweet and did share my food with him lah. I was eating and he's kaypo-ing about the family who sat behind us.

The woman, mother of 4 complained to the waiter when they served their tempuras or sushi.. I can't remember.

"You giving me this? This does not look anything like the one shows in the menu! The portion is so much smaller. You better go check it with your chef!"

I took my handphone out and text Bobby, "Will you feel embarassed if I was like the woman?"

I bet any man will.

Then we saw a couple leaving the restaurant. They sat down the table less than 10mins!

Bobby: I think they're going to Excapade.
Me: Maybe?

Bobby's food was still not served yet. And he can feel he's getting gastric pain soon.

Bobby: Excuse me, justnow we order the.. the grill salmon bento, it hasn't come yet. If they haven't make it yet, I wanna cancel the order.
Waitress: Ok sir. I'll check for you.

Waitress left our table.

Nonnie: Haiyoo.. You say like that surely she'll says your food in on the way liao lah. Mana they want you to cancel order.

After 5 mins...

Waitress: Sir, your salmon sashimi is coming.
Me: Ha? What? Sashimi?

We wanted to correct her but she walked away before we gave any response. Sai!

And.. She really hold a plate of Salmon Sashimi and serve us later.

Bobby: Sorry, but we ordered the Grill Salmon Bento, not this.
Waitress: I'm sorry sir. Bento sets only available for lunch.
Bobby: Oh. Then cancel the order then and give us the bill please.
Waitress: I'm so sorry sir.

Kanasai
.. Why when we order she didn't tell us that it's not available leh? Don't they check the orders?

We foot the bill and left. Like Bobby says, no next time.. Till someone says they've improved their food and services.

Our movie starts at 9.35pm, when we left the restaurant it was only 8.00pm. We wander around the mall.. And I saw this.

Nice?

The stickers each is B$5.00 and if you want the shop keepers to do it for you, labour charge another B$5.00. Cheaper than Miri leh.

I choose this.

So "Spiritual Garden" isn't it?

Just look at my mobile phone. Scratch here scratch there. I'm very careless and always dropped it. Not like some girls who actually to "Bao-Bei" their phone and buy a cover. I find it very ma-fan (troublesome) when the phone rings and you have to go open the cover and answer.. Not convenient at all.

Sigh.. Still using my 3.5years old Nokia 7250i. Mobile phone for my Birthday? Anyone? Just kidding lah. I'll get a new one myself when I got my pay...

In the end.. no jadi. Cos the guy says my phone is black colour and the sticker is transparent.. If I stick it, I won't be seeing anything also. Ok lor.. save me B$10.00.

Bobby and I were so damn "wu-liau" (bored) that we actually sat down the bench and looked at people passing by and guess their relations.

Me: Married couples.
Bobby: No lah.. Brother and Sister. They don't hold hand one.
Me: Aiyah.. Married couples also don't hold hands if they sien each other liao mah.
Me: Nah this one.. couple in progress.. The guy wanna "kau" the girl.
Bobby: I think the girl look more desperate eh.

We only sat there for 15mins then we decided that we're going to Swenson and get some icecreams..

Yeah.. we're so damn boring..

Finally, 9.35pm! Movie time~

To you all, Click is damn good and it makes me cry. A must see movie!

Ghost Festival

Look familiar?

If your neighbors are Chinese, Buddhist to be precise, you should be able to find it along the road side.

Yesterday was 15th of 7th Month in Chinese calendar, the infamous Ghost Festival… which we believe that ghost will have “holiday” from Hell and have fun in mortal world. This year got two 7th month lagi.. Long Holiday for "them" yoh.

Those offerings is to “respect” them… often meaning “I belanja you makan, give you money to spend.. You don’t come kacau me yah”.

Hehe. I’m not sure what I said is right or not.. it’s just my understanding. If I’m wrong.. feel free to correct.

See this if you're interested in the whole "Ghost Festival" thingie ~

I remember when I was a kid.. I always asked my mum why are we burning those hell notes and offering oranges and apples by the road side.. My mum will always tell me o “pai pai” (拜拜). “Pai-Pai” who? I don’t know..

So.. I assume we’re praying to 萨(Budha), 观音(Guan Yin) and 土地公 (Tu-ti-Gong)

My prayer goes like this…

(Translation - Budha, Guan Yin, "Land God", please bless my family safe and sound and I pass my exam and my dreams will come true"

Sounds like Chinese New Year’s greetings I know..

But… Once I know those Hell Notes, oranges, and apples are for “Good Buddies” 好兄弟..

I changed my prayer “format”

(Translation - Ladies & Gentleman, you go your way, I go mine. Don't disturb me. You ok I ok)

Yesterday night, like every year, my mum and I were burning those hell notes.

Me: Ma ah, you know what is blogging ah?

Mum: Huh? Block..? Blocking?

Me: Like.. writing diary in the Internet lo

Mum: A ha?

Me: I wanna take picture and blog about this “Ghost festival”

Mum: Cannot lah.. Later you soi-soi really saw something inside..

Me: Mm.. Oh… Ok.. Actually, I also a bit scare lah =p

Scare saw something like...

The day I got a marriage proposal

This happened last two weeks ago but I just don't have time to blog about this..

It was a fine afternoon. I was on my way to xxxxxx to get something done. Just when I wanna go get the pass from the guards... This is what happened..

Guard A: Pergi mana moi?
Me: Atas, xxxxxx Department. (Hand over my IC)
Guard B: Ai.. IC Merah kah? Tidak mau jadi IC Kunning?

(People who don't know much bout Brunei.. Yeah.. Yellow IC = Citizen, Red (or Purple) IC = P.R. (Permanent Resident)

Me: Mau... Tapi payah.. Mau apply and exam dulu.. Belum lagi lah
Guard A: Aiyah.. Tidah payah tu.. Kahwin Melayu saja bah...
Me: Huh? (Awkward Smile thinking.. Cibai.. Hamsap old man) Haha (Dry laugh)
Guard B: Benar ba.. Boleh macam tu..
Guard A: Aku ni masih bujang.. (He gave me a stupid wink! A wink! Cibai! He think he can "electric-shock" me hia?)
Me: (Trying to "siam" and avoid continue of the topic)
Guard B: Aku ni sudah kahwin pulang... (He looked sad.. Fuck lah.. Like I care you married already or not)

I just wave and quick quick push the lift's button and went upstair..

Just when I kao-tim everything there.. I realised.. My IC was with the guard.. No matter how I also need to go back there and take it and see their ham-sap faces again.. Cilaka..

Me: (Give the pass back)
Guard A: Moi.. Sudah siap kah? Cepat jua eh..

(I hate people calling me.. or most of the Chinese girls "moi".
"Ah-Moi, Ah-Moi" .. Very close to you meh?!)

Me: Yah.. Sudah..
Guard A: You jangan marah ah. Ku ada soalan mau tanya... Jangan marah ah
Me: Ah?
Guard A: Kita (Means "you" in Brunei, I know.. In Malaysia means "us" mah) boleh..atau mau masuk Islam kah?

THAT DOES IT...CCB! KNN! !@#$@$%&^#%

The fucking topic not over yet meh? Are they seriously thinking of marrying me? Marrying a Chinese lady young enough to call them Ah-Gong or Ah-Pek?

What makes them think that I'm so desperate to marry them and get a Yellow IC?

My God.. If I wanna get a Yellow IC.. I'll use the proper and decent way lah!

And also.. If I wanna marry a Malay... Why don't I choose someone who's younger, richer and have more pangkat..

Tiu...~

Brainless...

(If you're a Malay and happen to read this blog entry.. Don't get provoke cos I'm not refering to ALL of you... I know decent and nice Malays do exist)

"Cher Cher, you so cute lah"

Nonnie's little words:
Was suppose to wash my car, but I didn't/ haven't do it yet
Was suppose to paint my cabinet, but I didn't
/ haven't do it yet
Was suppose to tidy up my room, but I didn't/ haven't do it yet
All because right after I got home.. I ate my lunch, watch TV and take my afternoon nap~
Life is beautiful.. Don't envy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't complain I don't update bah. I just fucking hate it when I need to draft in the lame Microsoft Word... Just to save the fucking Netkad.. Cibai! Fucking Expensive you know.

Look at the fucking surfing rate!
*Link*
Now you know how they cibaily charged!
Don't complain me kiam ok~ Money hard to earn.
(Try shouting and keeping kids from age 5 to 12 under control, making sure they don't rosak anything in the Lab)

(And I tried dialing the stupid modem from 10.30pm.. Engaged! Believe it or not? It's almost 1.00am now.. And NOW i baru "online"! With 50.6kbps! Fuck That!)

My friends complain that I swear more.. Hmm.. Oh well. I can explained. Because I'm not swearing at most of the day.. not even the word "Shut Up" comes out from my mouth from the time 7.30am - 12.30pm. So.. I gotta let it all out once I got the chance~ Agree?

*Bleh* I might not be the best teacher around. But still~ I try to be a role model in school wat..

And also, I only swears when I know it's "safe" to swear... Like.. now in my blog? I certainly hope non of my students will actually go and Google me tho.. neither their parents. And I only swears when I'm with my closer friends. See you fellow readers, I regard you all as my closer friends ah.

I'm still in the middle of quitting my "bleep bleep".
It takes time~ Bear with me ok?

Gee.. I sound like a mad woman lah...

By the way... Just to show off a bit let you all know.. My students adore me~ Well.. They might be so damn out of control sometimes, but..they're kids. Don't we all talked a lot when we're in our Primaries?

When they see me, they'll "Hi Cher", "Morning Cher" to me and "salam" me
(Sad..Not even ONE Chinese student seen so far).

When they leave the school.. They'll come into the staff room and say "Bye cher" and "salam" me again.

How Sweet~

Today they actually tell me this..
"Cher Cher.. You so cute lah"

*Melted*

I don't know they say that because they wanna be my pet, gosok my kasut and hope I give high high scores for them or maybe they're so fucking clever knowing what to say so the teacher will go and believe it and syok sendiri whole day and laugh at their hearts .

So here...My pathetic draft that I actually typed in MS Words.. Just to save that few cents..
So Cham...Kasian.. Pathetic.. Poor.. Broke... Whatever~

(Sorry for those who can't read Chinese ah.. It's nothing private. Just that I feel that I can express my feelings in my mother tongue mah. If you try to Google translate it or using babelfish.. It'll become sibeh cacat)

Officially Miss (Cikgu) King today

Nonnie's little word:
I hate Dial-Up! It's damn expensive and slow! Every 5 minutes I'll be so paranoid and check how long I've been connected and every page took me like what... 2 minutes to load.. Wanna bang my head on the wall liao lor..

E-Speed ah.. When are you going to have another promotion oh? And TelBru, can tolong don't charge so expensive ah. B$98 for 512Kbps is still f-ing mahal lah! So slow again somemore.. Can we have streamyx instead???

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have to wake up at 6+am this morning which is super-ultra early for me. But.. for the rest of the days… I gotta get use to that.

Proper attire, baju kurung to be exact, start my car engine.. take a deep breathe and there I go.

I was early. The people there seems happy knowing there’s gonna be a new colleague sharing their work load. I report myself to my new “boss”. Heh. Glad that my boss is a “she” tho. (That kanasai Badli told me bout ladies who get harassed by their male boss makes me feel a bit worried too)

Breakfast is provided. We have half an hour break in between. Everyone seems so busy but me. I walked around.. and all I can do is playing the crossword puzzles.

I feel bored and all alone, comes a little girl who gave me an angelic smile which brighten up my days. I hope I’m going to love this place and the people here. Hehe. And there's a little boy who "salam" me before he left school. It's kinda sweet lah.

But first of all, I gotta fill up my time in the afternoon. Reaching home at the time of 1pm is definitely totally a new experience for me. Ever since I’d ended my school days, going home at 1pm is kinda like impossible.

But I know, this only will last for a week for most.. I guess? That's what they told me.

Now that I have more times to myself.. There’s a lot I wanna do.

I’m gonna paint my cabinet and mom’s old rusty fridge in the kitchen.

But.. I think I wanna finish "The Undomestic Goddess" first. It's my first English novel. Don't laugh. At least I'm trying. And I'm gonna force Bobby reading it too~ Muahaha

I want BROADBAND lah !!! Si Dial-Up ! You SUCKS !
